Out of the DarknessIsiolia’s story begins with her Duskwight bloodline, born of darkness below the surface. Her great-grandmother escaped the magical calamity and collapse of the underground city of Gelmorra. While tales of her bloodline are mysterious at best, her grandmother was descended from a line of Duskwight bards who specialized in the lost ancient music and art style of the Duskwight.Many of Isiolia’s musical influences are a blend of Duskwight and Wildwood cultural influences, her haunting melodies carrying echoes of cavern songs and shadow-dances that few living ears have ever heard. Her great-grandmother’s escape from the city of Gelmorra remains cryptic at best, but rumors of a generational curse persist within the Nightstar bloodline—whispers of ancient pacts and prices paid for survival.

The death of her parents marked a crucial fork in Isiolia’s path. While her twin siblings chose to remain in Sharlayan, continuing their father’s research and training as mages and astrologians within a scholarly order, Isiolia felt a different calling. Her initial years with her sisters couldn’t quell the growing wanderlust that burned within her—a desire to see beyond the confines of academic walls, to experience the world rather than merely study it.What began as a simple visit to friends in Eorzea evolved into an endless journey. In those early days, her path was illuminated by music and exploration—taverns, nightclubs, and impromptu stages where her bardic talents found willing audiences. Yet beneath this carefree façade, darker currents from her family’s history lurked, secrets that would eventually surface to claim her.

Fate’s cruelest joke came in the form of a magical accident at a salon—a chaotic incident that transformed the Elezen woman into a Viera. The metamorphosis left her disoriented, frustrated, and desperate for reversal. With her sisters’ help, she pursued every avenue of research to reclaim her original form, only to gradually question whether this new existence might offer something her previous life could not.In time, acceptance replaced resistance. Isiolia embraced her Viera form, finding in this transformation a metaphor for the greater changes occurring within her spirit. This physical alteration became the gateway to exploring the shadows that had always called to her—the liminal spaces between dreams and reality, the vast emptiness between stars.Two years ago, amidst the swirling darkness that was beginning to claim her life, Isiolia met Tizon. Their connection proved to be a rare point of light in her increasingly shadowed existence. Despite the dangers of her lifestyle and the complexities of her dual nature, their relationship deepened, culminating in their marriage this past summer—a moment of genuine joy amid the chaos.Her heart found further expansion when she encountered Red and Ekon, the leaders of the Crimson Phantom. These relationships became anchors, tethering her to humanity even as other forces pulled her toward darkness.Her time in the Beguiled Springs served as both refuge and crucible. The Foxglove Sanctum followed, a place of deceptive beauty hiding deadly purpose. Within its walls, Isiolia mastered the arts of medical evacuation under impossible conditions—extracting the wounded from situations where others would have abandoned hope.It was between her departure from Beguiled Springs and her arrival at the Crimson Phantom that Isiolia underwent perhaps her most profound transformation. Deep within the shadows between worlds, she encountered the calling of the void. Embracing the path of the Reaper, she formed bonds with two voidsent entities—Celeste and Heed.Celeste Nightstar, once an Elezen astrologian of House Nightstar who had been transformed into a voidsent some 450 years prior, recognized in Isiolia the perfect vessel—a descendant of her bloodline and the ideal host through which to maintain her presence in the mortal realm. The “generational curse” whispered about in Nightstar family history was, in fact, the ancient pact Celeste had formed with her descendants before her transformation. Ancient and patient, Celeste had waited centuries for such an opportunity, her essence composed of swirling stardust and shadow, her eyes like twin black holes reflecting the vastness of the void.With Heed serving as her second voidsent companion, Isiolia gained access to powers beyond mortal understanding. Through Celeste, she inherited ancestral memories of House Nightstar and abilities in dream manipulation and astral projection. This symbiotic bond, while granting her tremendous power, also introduced a constant struggle against Celeste’s hunger for aether and life force.Her training regimen became her identity. Days bled into nights as she perfected the disciplines that would define her:

The ocean has become her second home, the ship’s crew her chosen family. Her loyalty to them drives her to train harder than ever in combat, determined that no harm will come to those under her protection.By day, she serves as an inpatient clinical worker, researcher, and healer. By night, she becomes something else entirely—a mercenary moving through the underground underbelly, from fight clubs to drug dens to shadowy speakeasies. Her fascination with magitek and aether-healing methods has become an obsession, driving her to seek knowledge in places most would fear to tread.The abduction came without warning. Two voidsent cults, entities of unfathomable malice, saw in Isiolia a subject for their twisted experiments. Days turned to weeks as they systematically dismantled her—physically, mentally, spiritually. They probed the boundaries of her endurance, introducing her to depths of pain she never knew existed. Yet somehow, in the crucible of that torment, something in Isiolia hardened rather than broke.The irony was not lost on her—that she, bonded with voidsent companions, would suffer at the hands of those who worshipped such entities. Isiolia enjoys spending time with A'ce, the two are usually seen bantering playfully and in friendly discussions. Isiolia respects the former paladin's hardworking and jovial nature.

  • ♡ Tizon Enfadado: Isiolia's partner and husband, Tizon, has quickly earned his way into the Elezen woman's heart, and she deeply enjoys spending time with her mate. Ekon looks at Isi with a gaze so deep and warm that it feels like the world fades away. Isi, in turn, lovingly calls him her “gold lion,” a tribute to his strength and loyalty, while he calls her “Starlight,” captivated by the way she brightens even his darkest days.   • ?? Heed: Things between the Reaper and her voidsent is definitely beyond complicated. Heed is a tall, imposing draconic figure typically cloaked in shadow and often remains close to Isiolia. The bond between the two continues to unfold.

  • ?? Celeste: Often whispers of her name are heard around Isiolia. History reveals that she's the medic's great-great grandmother, many times over. But, why do the shadows around Isiolia whisper her name?

  • ○Atlas: Her brother-in-arms and the engineer of the Crisom Phantom is a Viera that Isiolia very much is protective of and cares for deeply, like family. The two very much work closely together and have for a while. Isiolia can be quite competitive with Atlas, but she no doubt cares for his well-being and safety. She'd definitely put a bullet into anyone who dared insult him in front of her.
